2012 Begins with February Meeting

The location of the February 1st, 2012, meeting of the Hi Lites Motor Club has been scheduled to be at the "Grotto Pizza" located on Route 415 at Harveys Lake, PA.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.  All members are encouraged to attend.  As always, guests are also welcome.

Items to be discussed at the meeting include:

• Review of 2011 events
• Discuss changes to 2012 event schedule made at the last meeting
• Planning for 2012 events
• New Members

November Club Meeting

The location of the November 2nd, 2011, meeting of the Hi Lites Motor Club has been scheduled to be at the "Grotto Pizza" located on Route 415 at Harveys Lake, PA.

Members who have active email accounts registered with the Hi Lites have received a message with an attachment.  The attachment is a copy of the minutes of the October meeting.  Please print that copy, read and bring with you to the November meeting.  Please pay attention to the information under topic "Special Discussion on Future of the Club"

October Club Meeting

The location of the October 5th, 2011, meeting of the Hi Lites Motor Club has been scheduled to be at the "Grotto Pizza" located on Route 415 at Harveys Lake, PA.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.  All members are encouraged to attend.  As always, guests are also welcome.

• Planning for next year's events
• Filling the Club Treasurer position
• Future of the Club

Pikes Creek Cruise, Saturday September 17th

This is a reminder to all club members and friends that the Cruise at Pikes Creek Raceway Park is scheduled for SEPTEMBER 17th, 2011 (SATURDAY 3 to 6pm).

Club members are asked to be there starting at 2:00 pm to help setup and be ready to park cars as they arrive. 

This event is usually well attended, but due to the severe weather events in our area in recent weeks, it may be a good idea to call your friends and cruising buddies to remind them of the event.  Everyone could use a "fun day" right about now!

The weather outlook is for a clear, cool, typical "fall" day, so lets end the season with a good turnout.

September Meeting Cancelled

Due to the rapidly deteriorating weather conditions and the many flash flood warnings in the area, it has been decided to cancel the meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 7th.

Car Show to Benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research

Eric Jacobs, a member of the Hi Lites Motor Club and a senior in his local high school, is coordinating a Car Show to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  The car show is for Eric’s senior class project.  Eric will be receiving assistance from the members of the Hi Lites Motor Club.

 The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 30, 2011 and will take place at the Hanover Recreation Club Park.  The park is located on Front Street in the Hanover Section of Nanticoke, PA.  Gates will open at 9:00 Am with awards being made at 3:00 PM.

There will be door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, music and an Elvis Impersonator.  Food will be available and is being prepared by Joe’s Pizza of Nanticoke.  LaFratte’s Catering will also be providing their services.

Registration on the Day of the Show will be $10.00 with proceeds going to Juvenile Diabetes Research.  Trophies will be awarded to the top 50 vehicles.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and support from the local community is encouraged.  Car Clubs in the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton area are encouraged to attend and support this benefit car cruise.

July Meeting Announcement

The regular monthly meeting of the 

Hi Lites Motor Club will be held on July 16th at the Twist & Shake Cruise.

This will be the perfect opportunity to try out the suggestion made during the winter meetings that some of the summer meetings be held in conjunction with our cruise events.
