Opening Cruise is a Huge Success

The Hi Lites Motor Club opened their 2013 season with a Cruise at the Pikes Creek Raceway Park on Saturday May 18th. The weather tried to put a damper on the day, but the faithful fired up their rides and showed up for a great event. The rain held off and the event went without any issues.

'49 Dodge Coronet
There were twenty-three classic and antique vehicles Ranging from a beautiful 49' Dodge Coronet to a sweet looking 84' Vette. Red was the color of the day as the show saw eleven cars sporting some shade of red while yellow was also a popular color with four more rides reflecting that hue.
Boss 302

While waiting for the prizes and trophies some of the participants took their smack talking to the go-cart  track to finally puit an end to the "Who is the best driver" argument. In this round, it wasn't Ford vs. Chevy, but rather Briggs vs. Tecumseh.
Bragging Rights
If you watched closely, you might have noticed a driver or two trying to adjust the carburator to gain that extra edge. In the end it was all smiles and laughs and they were all winners.
68' Cougar
Door prizes and trophies seem to "hi-lite" the evening and this evening was no different. We had four trophies and several door prizes handed out.

'69 AMX
The winner of the first ever "Dave Nuss Memorial" trophy was Gene and Becky Derhammer from Pikes Creek with their beautifully restored 68' Mercury Cougar.
57 Chevy

Other winners included PeteVogrin with his 69' AMX,

'64 Chevy
Bill cave with his 57' Chevrolet    and

John Doty with his 64' Chevrolet.
